Title: Dream Team
Author: Ann Coburn
Publisher: Waller Books Ltd
Summary:
Harley, Midge, Snaffle and Vert were finally going for their solo missions to deliver dreams. Midge had to deliver a nightmare which was bad. Once she was at the location at location, she thought that this nightmare would make the boy whom was going to a new school tomorrow feel worse. She then dropped the box with nightmares on the floor. Afterwhich, she went back to Dreamside. Harley’s box was right on time but she was sucked into the dream. In the dream, she tried to make the boy let go of her by making him pee. She then got out. Vert’s dream drop was not good, as a dog ate it. He went back to make a new ore, and delivered it secretly with Harley’s help. Snoffle went on his solo missions with low power. During the delivery, his dreamskoot ran out of power and crashed. Everyone in Dreamside were so scared, even with the Search and Rescue Team around. Snoffle found a battery in his pocket and plugged it in his dreamskoot. Everyone was glad that Snoffle was back. The DreamTeam had made their first solo flights.
My preferred ending:
Snoffle power was running low, yet he attempted to fy up the tall building to make his delivery. Halfway up, his power cell died and he fell. In the nick of times, the Search and Rescue Team arrived, catching him and his dreamskoot in mid air. Harley, Midge and Vert were waiting for Snoffle. The DramTeam was reunited.

An Inconsiderate Family
“Come on Joey and June, Mummy and Daddy are going down to burn the paper money! Do you want to come?” Their mother asked. Definitely Mummy.” The siblings answered cheerfully. The happy family went down to their flat. There, they saw an incinerator, but decided not to use it as the metal was rusty and old. Their father started to light up the fire and everybody was throwing the paper money on the ground excitedly.
Suddenly a strong wind blew, the fire they had started became stronger and stronger. The bits of paper and ashes were blown all over the place. The passer-bys were all affected by the gigantic fire and smoky air. In no time, everybody was coughing.
The passer-bys decided to call the fire-engine and police as the fire became threatening. In less than ten minutes, the fire-fighters arrived and put out the fire. The policeman questioned them and gave them the most boring lecture they had ever received. The family thought to themselves, “Are all policemen this naggy?"
The policeman then meted out their punishment. He said in the most boring tone, “Your punishment is to clean the whole district by next week.”
While they were cleaning, Joey and June told their parents, “Mummy Daddy, we love this job! Can we do this forever?” “If you want to.” They replied.

Then, Sherilyn saw another ghost, he was Anna’s teacher. He told Sherilyn to accept her and when the time was ripe, he will save her. Sherilyn performed in the concert and when the lights went out, the Ballerina was taken away.
My Preferred Ending:
Sherilyn did not want to accept The Ballerina as her teacher and the Ballerina took Sherilyn away. Sherilyn’s friend, Ignatius, followed them quietly at the back and behind Ignatius was Vladimir, the ghost of ballerina’s late master. The ballerina took Sherilyn to a place where she killed all her pupils. The Ballerina forced Sherilyn to accept her as a teacher. Sherilyn refused and The Ballerina took out a dagger. She intended to stab Sherilyn. Ignatius and Vladimir had informed the Keepers, who were supposed to take away the soul of those ghosts who created trouble in the Mortal World. The Keepers went in and got hold of The Ballerina. Ignatius and Vladimir freed Sherilyn, but Sherilyn gave up dancing after this incident.

Rachel's Book Review

Name: Rachel
Title: Fright camp
Author: R.L Stine
Publisher: Scholastic
Summary:
Andrew was not enjoying his summer holidays. He loved scary stories written by R.B. Farraday. One day, he noticed a notice on 'Fright camp' organised by his favourite author. He was amazed! He was pretty excited about it and was expecting scary and frightening experiences. Such as the lake of water zombies, bottomless quicksand pit of screams and so on. His wishes came true! He was fearful and wished to go home... But wait till he found out that it was just a little prank R.B. Farraday made to scare them!
My preferred ending:
Instead of a little prank, it was for real. R.B. Farraday committed a murder and wanted to kill all the kids in the fright camp. Andrew became scared. He managed to escape during the night. During attendance taking the next day, Farraday found out that Andrew escaped. He was furious and ordered his men to find him. But he was too late. Andrew called the police and they promptly arrested Farraday and his gang. He saved the rest of the kids and were all safe and sound. From then on, Andrew threw all Farraday's books away and was never a fan of him again.
Comments from Ms. Yen Good job Rachel! I enjoy your wonderful preferred ending! Very creative and original. (",)

Ebell's Book Review

Name: Ebell, Primary 4
Title: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Author: Roald Dahl
Publisher: Puffin
Summary:
Charlie was a very poor boy. He lived at the edge of a very big and rich town. In the town there was a chocolate factory. It was not just any chocolate factory, but the biggest and most famous in the whole wide world! When Mr. Willy Wonka sent out messages about the golden tickets, the whole world went mad and started buying chocolates. Soon, there were already four finders. Winter came; Charlie was so hungry and cold. One day while he was walking back home, he saw a gleaming fifty pence! He took it out and bought a chocolate bar with it. He was opening the second bar when a golden ticket flashed at him. It was the last and only golden ticket in the whole world! He was at the chocolate factory the next day sniffing the delicious smell of chocolates. They went to the chocolate river- the most important component in the factory. While everybody was tasting the buttercups, fat, stupid and greedy Augustus Gloop was gulping huge mugs of hot chocolate. Mr. Wonka let out a piercing shriek which made Augustus jumped in surprise. He fell into the river and was sucked up by the pipe. The next child who went missing was Violet Beauregarde followed by Veruca Salt then Mike Teavee. Violet was such a busybody that she ate an incomplete gum which would turn people into purple and looked like a ball. The spoilt and disgusting Veruca went into the Nut’s Room and was thrown down the rubbish chute by the strong and smart squirrels. While the TV guy, Mike went and became no more smaller than an ant due to watching too much of television. Charlie was soon the only child left. Mr. Wonka told him that he would pass the entire factory to him as he was old.
My Preferred Ending:
When the other children strolled out with their parents, they heard that Mr. Wonka was giving Charlie the factory. They were of course agitated. They told everyone who would listen about Mr. Wonka giving Charlie the factory. Soon a fight ensued. Everyday, there would be banners and badges that said, “Bucket Stinks! Come And Join Us!” Even in school, Charlie had no friends to talk to. The children would just ignore him. The Veruca Salt had even made badges saying, ‘Resign! Resign!” There were cheers about it. It was intolerable and an ugly sight. There were chocolate factories which people said were worth ten times better. “Loser Loser Loser Resign Resign Resign You Ungrateful Brat Resign Loser!” the crazy people chanted. “While they are just jealous.” Charlie’s parents told him. “I don’t care. I would make better chocolates so people would enjoy and we’ll have peace again!” That’s the spirit son.” Mr. Bucket told Charlie. Better chocolates were coming out; people were coming over to his side. Charlie’s plan was working. In the end, only the people who started it first were left on their team. Charlie, on the other hand, became more popular.

The Park Bully
One cool Sunday morning, Lucy went to the park, pushing her doll’s pram. She saw a little girl bouncing a red ball. All of a sudden, a boy came over and snatched her ball away! She said, “Hey, that’s my ball!” But the boy just did not care.
Lucy quickly ran to help, but the boy was nowhere to be seen. Lucy found her friend, Sam. She started a discussion. First, they will try to find the boy. Secondly, they will form a net-like- shape around him. Finally, they will snatch his toys! “Ha Ha,” thought Lucy, “That will teach him a lesson!”
The boy was found near the park’s statue, lying there, laughing menacingly. They hid behind the statue. Then they crept towards him and suddenly… they snatched his toys away! The boy said, “Hey what did you do that for?” “The same thing you did to the girl,” snapped Lucy.
“I’m sorry,” said the boy. “I promise not to do it again,” he said. The park was once peaceful again. The three children went home and told their mothers about it.Done by Cylene Tan, Primary 2/3

Title: The Twits
Author: Roald Dahl

Summary:
Mr Twit was one of these very hairy-faced men and was very smelly and old. Mrs Twit was no better than her husband. Mrs Twit wasn’t born ugly but when a person had ugly thoughts, it began to show on the face. Mr and Mrs Twit’s house look like a prison. There was not a window anywhere. They had a tree called ‘The Big Dead Tree’. Not far from the tree, there was a monkey cage. There were four monkeys in it. Once a week, on Wednesdays, the Twits had Bird Pie for supper. The clever monkeys decided to glue the whole house upside down.
My preferred ending:
There was a Roly-Poly bird which came and save the Monkeys. All the other birds came and stole the cage key to let the monkeys out. When Mr and Mrs Twit went off to buy guns, the birds and the Monkeys thought of a teffic plan. They glued all the furniture onto the ceiling. When the Twits reached home they were turned upside down. They both began to shrink. One week later, a man called Fred dropped by to read the gas meter. Nobody answered the door so he went in and saw two bundles of old clothes, two pairs of shoes and a walking stick. Where did they go?

He would prefer the guest room at the corner of his house, but his mom just refused to let him have that room! So, late one night, Matt sneaked into the guest room and spent his whole night there. Poor him. He should have listened to his mom! Only did he know the next morning when he wakes up, his whole life had changed. He was transforming into different creatures everyday. In the end, he found out that he was just imagining things because of stress. His mom also promised to give him a bigger room.
My preferred ending:
Matt opened his birthday present. The whole guest room for him! He screamed and his mom asked him what happened. Matt told his mom the truth, “ Its all your imagination!” his mom said. Matt remembered videotaping what his nightmare was and proved it to his mom. His mom gasped, “ Oh no, this cant be true! Grandpa told me once and I thought it was just one of his stupid excuses!” They packed all their belongings and moved to a new mansion. And a new series of nightmares begins when their new neighbour old Madam Goth started playing scary tunes on the piano every night on the same timing. 2.43 am. What does this mean? Its up to Matt and his mom to find out…
